Mutafchiev

Jivko Mutafchiev was born in 1967 in Aytos, Bulgaria. He is a graduate of the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia. His artworks are owned by the Museum of Modern Art in Fontainebleau, France. and is also held in private collections in Austria, Germany, France, Switzerland, Greece, The Netherlands, Belgium, Great Britain, Russia, United States and Spain.

In his paintings and pastels, Jivko MUTAFCHIEV pursues both poetic and realistic inspiration. The finesse of the drawing and the treatment of the colour confer mystery and dream to his favorite themes: the city, the woman, the portrait, the music. Hand inscriptions appear in many of his paintings, and contribute to the aesthetic and enigmatic side of the work.
